It such a shame, really is. But where we are using oil & extracting it, there is bound to be spills I guess. I had to laugh when I read that BP has pledged money into the research of the impacts of the oil spill. Which is great I guess, but we already know how devastating the impacts are, why not put some money into researching better technologies that can prevent or reduce the impacts of such a thing occurring again

Like any money they pump into it will be worth what the spill will cost. Both in terms of clean up and environmental cost. How do they calculate impact?

So I heard today They are going to try something that works on land but they are not sure of it working in water.. I got a question tho What if it doesn't work then wont they just be poluting even more?

The risk of more pollution is worth it when you look at all the damage this can do to the environment. Besides, could it create more pollution than a single day of this leak could?

True I guess as long as it stops we should do what we can right? I also heard that they are putting new regulations and laws down ...

New laws, new regulations. They are long overdue. Big oil keeps making a better arguement for alternative energy.

They say and talk and keep on going but everytime they get an offer for the "next big thing" don't they just buy out the smaller companies beacuse of some "default" in it but in truth it just hurts some big company? idk i am a little confused on this whole thing I just think it is really bad for the enviroment and for the whole american reputation .. maybe i am off but take into consideration i am a sophomore in high school ... none of this is right ...
I think I heard that what they are doing is helping stop the leak but helping doesnt quite cut it ..

I know what you mean. We should have been there already. They have been talking about this for many years. I remember them talking about it 16 years ago. And still, very little is actually done.
