Re: The Pressure of School Exams

yep.. maybe life does not rely entirely on these final exams... but come to think of it, these final exams play a part... I think of them more as a test of patience than intelligence, really ^^ ... you see there are lots of things we have to go through that we won't learn in school... however the start of the journey begins there... okay so I couldn't explain myself well, eh? ^^ in simpler terms, life and knowledge don't end in these final exams, but they are a test of character, in any way...

They say you can't use oversized signatures here on AO.

School ain't shit. Remember school work doesn't hold water to manual labor.

    Grumble Grumble Grumble

The thing is... exams doesn't quite compare to 'crunch time' in a professional position. At work, we had a 'Alpha freeze' deadline today, and quite a few of my co-workers pulled all nighters to get those last bug code fixes in...

Hah... manual labor doesn't hold water to Linux Kernel security programming... very very few people have the mental self-discipline to do this kind of work...

there a woman in my class whos alot older than me, and she constantly has linux/mac/pc opinions. the wierd thing is that she has what my friend and i call the "bearded lady" complex, literally!

I'd rather do exams than what our gfx course has in store for us.
We have to pick out works over the 1st semester and put them in a portfolio to explain our works to our semester teachers like a presentation., IM GONNA BE HATING IT!!, 1st year work especially 1st semester work is embarrassingly noobish

I don't know Miyata. Sitting in front of a computer drinking coffee. Is alot easier than say lifting furniture for a living, painting houses, or working in a car factory. That's why you go to school cause it's easier than manual labor and you get a higher paying job which is alot easier too.

It can b really depressing.but it is necessary becoz in a way,it tests the capacity of students in areas of subjects at skool to c wat u really learnt n most of all,if u can apply wat u learn in real life situations.

I don't understand your logic here... If the position is alot easier to do, then why would they pay you more money for it??? The laws of supply and demand would dictate otherwise...

According to the latest US Census Bureau statistics, a college degree qualifies you for enough 'tougher' positions to average an additional $23,000 dollars in average gross income..
Report: College degree worth extra $23,000 a year - CNN.com:

And back in the days of my youth, having to work at picking row crops and stacking bags of mushroom compost to earn myself through my first college degree, plus 15 years working at a retail plant Nursery store, you can't say I don't know the meaning of hard labor... The question you have to ask yourself is, Are you worth the time and investment to earn yourself a college degree? You know yourself better then anyone here in the forums, so only you can answer that question. But if the answer is no, then no doubt the companies you seek employment with will come to the same conclusion...
