Since you'd brought God into this;
Life can be considered a test given by God to all mortal creatures. The guild lines are simple: live according to his commandments and try your best to be virtuous. Once you have completed the test you are judged based on your actions and are either admitted into heaven or forsaken to hell.
I'm pretty sure bunnies don't sin so you should be happy that you were able to give it a peaceful and good life and be comforted by the fact that it is in little bunny heaven nibbling on all sorts of fruit and veggies.
When you decide to keep a pet you must also reconcile the fact that you will most likely out live it, cats having the longest average life span of 15-20 years. Make the best of the time you two have together so that you have plenty of memories and move on.
Every animal will have a different personality, so it might be worth it to get another pet. I recommend a ferret, while they usually only live for seven years they're absolutely the cutest little things around.
