    scarification

i havent posted a new thread in a while but anyway...

    this is about scarification
i wanna know what you think

    for those who dont know:

scarification is a type of body art
it's almost like tattoos but instead of ink being put in your body
the professional uses a scalpel and cuts the image into you
during the healing process cover it with vasaline and cover that with plastic wrap

when it heals it shines bright red and pops out like so...

this one isnt my favorite but... yea it's an example of a finished one
i think it's very beautiful and i think i want to get one done on my lower back

Sometimes I still dream of you, even though you were so cold

    Re: scarification

O.o god all mighty!!!!!!!!! I had never heard about this before!!! Thank you for the information.
It looks cool ofcourse but I wouldn't want that on my body... Aint that painfull? Is this pic of your leg? O.o god... you must be a girl with guts!

Well I have nothing against it as well as I have nothing against tatoos (as long as they are made with some sence of taste and style), but I don't want those because... my skin changes and it won't look pretty anymore when I'm older and then I'll be sorry probably... And also.. only a profesional should do it ofcourse.

I had heard about such cuttings (they were healed differently though) done in an... African country I think... it was some kind of tradition and then I thought it's really great, this I think it's not that great, because usualy- it's just to look good and it doesn't have any other sence but that (unlike the traditional cutting, which had like 10 meanings... and looked quite cool ). Of course I'm not saying everone who's doing it does it just to show off... no way... but... yea... cool

Sounds kinda of barbaric to me. Id never date a chick that had this done. The body's a temple and you shouldn't ruin it. If i want to look at art ill go to a museum. No offense, but it makes you look trashy.

    Re: scarification

I am with Lasura on this one...painful but beautiful at the same time.
must have hurt. I don't have a problem with body art, but there are some who take it to far and that is just stupid. like the guy who wants to become a puzzle...why?

I myself want to get a Celtic life band. just for my Irish inheritance.
But I don't think I want it done with scarification.

    Re: scarification

no, for one thing, that's not my leg

and well, i dont know about that... i mean i know it's an opinion but how does that look trashy

haha i take good care of my body and well.. i love body art, i havent gotten any yet and all i want is the thing on my lower back and a tattoo around my belly button

really im not doing it for anyone else but me, that's the only reason i do things and i think it's pretty

    art has no boundries..

about the regret thing... if i come to the point one day thinking why did i get this i will, instead of regretting it, think of how wonderful that day had been for me to get it done because when you decided to get something on your body and you go to get it the first time you reach this level of excitedness that i thought i could never reach, it was an amazing event for me when i got my lip ring i was so unbelieably happy and so i will just remember, when im down or something, that i may someday feel like that again and just hold on to that memory

    Re: scarification

I must say it is interesting. It is not something I would have done. I am not one to brandish my body with designs, unless it were there when I was born onto this earth. Just my opinion on the matter.
That aside, it does give an effect that a tatoo cannot.

    @ unlovelyassasin's last post:
Well if I'd make a tatoo or this scarific-thingy I would keep it really small and cute. Actually I'd like to have this scarific-thingy more than a tatoo I think.. because it's kinda more beautiful- nicely red and that is also something that stays with you for life... and it would mask the scar on my back perfectly

And about the excitment... I didn't have that feeling when I got my ears pierced (yes, it was a great happening to me ) but then again I don't have any memorie of excitement like that. But that really is a quite good aproval, besides- my body will look bad even without the tatoo or scarific-thingy (I'm sorry I call it that way but I don't know the proper name )
