State testing

I actually see nothing wrong with testing
When I took the SAT two years ago...I was prepared and I knew that it was going to be much harder than the tests I have been taking regularly at my high school...and even though they do not count towards your grades...they do count for your future because no matter what school or college you go to here....they will ask for you state testing scores and depending on what you get....you will know what college you get into....so they are very important and no matter how hard they may seem.....wait till you get to college...then you will know the definition of being "brain fried"....^_^

Not to mentioned that it actually helped me financially in college too. I am not sure about the other states, but back when I was in High School students who did great were awarded $1000 for paying for higher edcuation. For every subject that you excelled in you would get $1000 and that's not all. Every year the government would add more money into it like interests, up until your 30th birthday you can use it to pay for school.

They had just started such testing when I was in 10th grade. Of course, around a Military Base, they had a little more testing because the Military was paying for part of the schooling. If they're goig to do the tests, then I think they should be teaching everyone the same things in the same grades. I blew off my Senior year and got As, Bs, and Cs. Mostly because the stuff they were teaching was stuff I had already had before in lower grades at other schools. Each school system does not teach the same things, therefore testing by States doesn't make a lot of sense unless all of the schools in the State are teaching the same things at the same time.

I was in the same situaton last year when I took the math portion. From the 3rd to 9th grade I was in remedial math. 10th grade I was in a modified Alg I class and last year I was in Geometry. I ended up bombing the Math TAKS because there was a lot of stuff that I didn't even know and that wasn't on the reviews they made us do. But the beauty of it is that I don't need to take it to graduate. But I still don't think people should take it to graduate. There are a lot of people who honestly can't take tests to save their lives. I used to be one of those people.
