Thread: Stereotypes

im automaticly stero-typed because im black. anyone can disagree with me...yea yea shut up. i am. just cuz im black they think im a gangbanger or im automaticly going to casue trouble. in reality im not like that at all. it's just a label on us becuz a few of us do that. and it's not just my race. all races have it. they think mexicans pile up in cars like crazy people and they think whites are stuck up and like to run in the winter with shorts, I SEE IT!!!, but anyway it's just labels and it's one persons veiw and the happen to be closed minded.

stereotypes... oh well.. most ppl are like that.. :/ but i think they should keep what they think about others look to themselves...
it is rude to do so...i think...
i don't like telling ppl things like this...if i have opinions about any1's look i like to keep it to myself ^^

That's so very truth... it is sad but truth... I grew up on a black neighborhood... and when I moved out from there I could hear a lot of ppl saying: why did u lived there? wasn't dangerous? and the reality is NO! it wasn't that dangerous. In fact most of my best friends is black, so what. Ppl look at us weird 'cos what they see is a "white person with a black one" they don't see friends......... Stupid people!

hmm... ppl in malaysia are not that streotype.. but some is.. that is very little..
so can stereotype be labelled as racist too??

In some cases, like princess' lady or mine yes I'd consider that stereotype a form of racism. On other case I'd say sexism. Like I don't know about here on the US but in latin America one of the stereotypes that I consider sexists is the one that states that the woman should be in the house educating the kids. If the kid is spoiled it is all the woman's foult. That over ther for me is a sexist stereotype.

so.. from that info of urs there are many type of steroetypes.. i c...

I guess you live in a nicer area(region). Around here most black neighborhoods usually have higher crime and what not. When i visit my friend(Yes hes black), i see security systems(Those signs) on just about every house. My neighborhood has none, and is so dam boring. Cant remember the last time ive seen something bad happed here. Hes told me all the horror story's that go on in his neighborhood, and has witnessed alot of crimes. Scary...

Its just the neighborhoods around here are usually lower and middle class family's. We have lots of white dominated crime ridden neighborhoods too, so it ain't a race thing. Just a poor issue. When you have less money it get you angry. I guess there are middle and upper class all black neighborhoods. I just never seen any. Even with that said its still a stereotype, not every poor person is a criminal. Just a few mess it up for everyone.

I get stares all the time when i hang out with him, just pisses me off. stupid ppl indeed.
