Telling lies or hiding the truth is acceptable for the right reasons?

Yeah I think lying is good for the right reasons sure but it has to be a good reason.

i agree.i use to have a bad problem with lieing.i used it for everything that i thought i could be punished for.ive found that lyng is a terrible idea.i try to avoid situations were id be tempted to lie.if you dont do anything wrong then you wont have to lie.as for lieing to children...childern are smart.my aunt and uncle told my 3 year old cousin that her fish was "hiding" and when it "came back" she noticed that it had spots.they told her that it grew them.lol.she told me later that she new that it had died.she is freakin geniuss.

Yup .If given a right reason then lying is fine .Like for lying to little children .My mom used to lie to me that if i ate bananas i would fly like birds .Lol .Far-fetched but sure tricked me into eating bananas . And sometymes to save a friend in trouble .Oh and if lie to make a fight better i think its alright .For example if two friends A and B fight and you lie and tell A that B was saying this this good thign about you ,or that B was in some stress or somehting , it can help end fights etc .

I have to say,sometimes it is best to lie if you think it will protect someone you love/care about.In my life unfortunately that means i have become quite adept at it

Well it really depends on the situation cause if you just lie when your about to get in trouble in order to get out of trouble then I guess it would be reasonable to lie but if it's to innocent children and they want to know the truth then I think that they deserve to know the truth rather then you having to tell them a lie.

for me lying the most cases is unacceptable, it's just not right and i have made the experience that it will always come back and the truth will be revealed.....or maybe it's just because i'm a bad liar xD

If it is me.. yes.. sometimes it is the right decision, but one small lie can turn into something nasty... better think carefully of the consequences and yes.. lie "responsibly" and do not put others in misery *nods*
