Re: Todays kids go too far

Police are seeking criminal complaints against three other females -- ages 20, 16 and 14 -- believed to have taken part in the attack.
In my experience with younger and older kids, it's normally the younger almost always trying to get the attention and praise of the others, so if for instance she merely cursed at the woman, then was pushed further by the others, it's easy to see how it can get out of hand.
I am in NO way condoning it in any shape or form but I don't think the blame should fall entirely on the parents or the child, peer pressure and attention can change someones persective.

I beleive that parents are partly to blame, but so is society. I suppose the parenting side is quite obvious, but thanks to Right Activists, it's no longer acceptable to smack your children or for the police to put their foot up their arse! If the police were able to actually establish some sort of authority, rather than pety warnings that take 3 weeks to file, they may actually be able to take control of situations.
A man may fight for many things: his country, his priciples, his freinds. But personally, I'd mud-wrestle my own mother for a Ton of cash, an amusing clock and a stack of french porn!

Re: Todays kids go too far

Yesterday's kids go too far!

They started living to the age of 80 instead of 40!
Got married at the age of 20 instead of 15!

O_O THE INHUMANITY!!!

^_^ Look, every generation calls their kids crazy...
C'mon, the transition from 50's to the 60's?! The 60's to the 70's?! And 80's to 90's!

Now... 90's to the 00's...

We consider a 16 and 14 year old gettin' it on is sick... but when you actually see the 12's and the 10's doin' it, then you don't think so much about 16's and 14's (trust me, sexuality is getting younger and younger... every new generation will become less and less "cultured and understanding"...

Smoking at 18 has turned to 13... Drugs at 17 has turned to 13 as well...

Sure, maybe not at the "safezones" in the world. But it is actually very common.

And you know what? It's a fusion of things:
1. Kids trying to impress and be like the older kids
2. Neglectful parents
3. Parents who actually TEACH the kids these things
4. Poor decision-making for the child
5. Horrible role-models

<_< Despite the idea that you don't see EVERY child running around humpin' each other all over the place, what do you think 90% of the songs sing of today? That's right... the sex.
And you know what? If it isn't with one parent that they're allowed to hear these songs, it's with another when they sleep over! Or maybe even in secret!
(I'll admit, songs from wayyy before these days sang about sex a lot, but 1. at least it sounded good 2. no kids ever really thought "Hey let's talk about sex baby! Let's talk about you and me!" XP )

We're just getting worse and worse because people really don't know how to take care of their kids as the generations go by!

Why?

Let's see, every decade we've become more rebellious to "the old"... though some still hold some dignity and respect, the others "fall out" and produce more kids than a single hospital!

And when those "rebellious" parents teach their children (or NOT teach their children), they tend to never end up anywhere at all!
And every generation, we lose more and more common sense, that our children just become even more rebellious than we were!

...for crying out loud, first we needed Oprah... now we need Dr. Phil????!!!

Have you ever really listened to Dr. Phil???? All he says are REALLY REALLY OBVIOUS!!! And for some reason, all the parents go like "O_O OMFG! HE'S A GENIOUS!!!"...

-_- I put up with Oprah because she did think of some things that we didn't think of everyday... but Dr. Phil is just ridiculous.
He says the most mundane and OBVIOUS things, and people treat him like a deity.

*sigh* Well, I suppose if generations have less and less common sense, he deserves a seat as a deity. -_-;;

Look... most times, when there's a group of people who are against rebellious kids, they tend to make their kids EVEN MORE rebellious. And the ones who are too "I'll let my child choose their destiny", their kids often choose something completely idiotic, and when they grow old they yell at their parents "IT WAS YOUR FAULT!!! YOU NEVER STOPPED ME!!! YOU NEVER TAUGHT ME ANYTHING!!!" ...

It's gone toooooo ridiculous! Even my older brothers are more childish than me... sure, one of them produces real plays in blackboxes, and the other is already getting invites from WB and big honcho companies to be an artist for them... but, let me tell you something...
At home, one's a total EMO, the other acts like a soap opera drama queen!

Two grown men! And they're still crappy kids! And for some reason, the one with ADHD (me) grew up to be at least "normal"! O__o COME ON!! DOES NO ONE THINK THAT'S ODD?!!!

-_- *siiiiigh* Today's kids go too far? How about yesterday's kids?
How about our parents? How do you think they were like? ... we blame everyone but ourselves these days...

Re: Todays kids go too far

It's the parents' fault for their childrens' behavior. Kids nowadays are cussing all over the place. It's sad really to think that they are our future. But, we musn't blame them. Actually, we can blame them. They're old enough to know what they're doing, and smart enough to know the consequences and understand the situation. In fact, that right there is the problem. They know that they're children. So they take advantage of the fact and do whatever they want. We shouldn't give in to this. Examples of this reality....

Just because a little girl is seven years old and does something horrible, doesn't mean that she shouldn't go to jail or get some type of serious punishment for her actions. I was told once, that there was this young girl, seven, to be exact, and she accused a teacher of molesting her. This ofcourse, was a lie. She went to court with her father because her father caught her laughing on the phone with her friend about how much trouble she had gotten her teacher into. With this information coming from the father, the judge still didn't do anything to discipline the young seven year old. She was young, yes...but she knew exactly what she was doing and what it would do the teacher. The teacher didn't go to jail..but his/her reputation is screwed, thanks to that little girl. She knew exactly what she was doing, and knew that she could do it and not get into trouble because she was a 'little girl'.

Another incident...At my high school, the drama department put on a play for various elementary school students. One of my friends..a drama major, said she was very saddened and disappointed at the fact that there were these little kids cursing all the time to each other and talking bad about the school and whatnot. Elementary kids.

The world is coming to an end.

Really...

But, it's the parents. They don't discipline their children enough, or at all. They let them do whatever they want, whenever they want. As long as they don't yell at the parents, or whine when they don't have their way, everything is fine.

NO.

This isn't how it should be. If children misbehave, they need to known that they are misbehaving. They need to understand that they are only kids and have no clue as to what they're talking about. They need to know that what they do is wrong, and what they should do should be done more often. It's rediculous how much kids disrespect nowadays.
They need to be taught a lesson.

Parents of today's generation just allow kids to be the way they are. But that is not the only factor affecting their behaviour. There is also video games, peer pressure, and etc...

It's true though. Modern Society changes so rapidly that the 'Older' generations don't really understand what happened. I can understand exatly what you mean and I'm only 18. The differance was, I was taught that when I done something wrong; the punishment wasn't some crappy grounding or spending time in my room; but actually had to do house work or something similar. I then got an explanation of what I did was wrong and why it was wrong rather than just "Dont do that again!"

This is one of the reasons why I blame society on a whole. Take prison for example; It's no longer a punishment! Sure your locked up for a certain time, but you get 3 Meals a day, a bed and sanitary facilities, Sky TV, numerous recreational activities the list goes on and on. It's a wonder why all these homeless people don't go a murder someone 'cause prisoners get a better standard of living than some people I know a college.
You've then got those bloody Right Activists again, appauled at the state of 1prison in Stirling because the prisoners; people who have commited crimes and broken the boundries of todays Moral Boundries; have to shit in a bucket. If it was up to me, the prison service would be run by the military.

What I'm getting at after this rant, is that there are no sure-fire measures to make breaking the law a truley bad thing, which is why a lot of 'Todays' kids don't really give a damn. In their eyes, breaking the law = a holiday. Wheres the deterant? What's worse is that it's the poor Police Officers on the strret that get all the shit bacause of Corporate Whores at the top worried about losing their social status!

Is it just me or is the World going mad?
