Thread: useless inventions

back in the 30's they made this x-ray machine so you could see your feet in your shoes. It was a really stupid idea and on top of it it killed 90% of the ppl that used it because of radiation exposure.

Well it was a stupid invention, but not a useless one.
You see, they had no idea the effects of radiation - so you can't fully blame them.

It did have a use however, but the unseen risks were beyond the usefulness.

it is useless you dont need a device to see you feet in a shoe. Theres not point you know if fits by how it feels.

That wouldn't matter if you don't care for complete-snugged shoes.
The device was useful for specially-tailored shoes.
Trust me, an x-ray would be rather convenient for shoe makers. Not everyone's foot measures the same (there's just a standardized measurement), and not everyone's foot reacts the same way - so an x-ray was rather useful.
Not exactly THE MOST USEFUL THING EVAR, but it was a convenience.

Useless would mean it would have no use whatsoever. Pushin' it a bit to say that that device was useless.

i think the useless invention can help to produce more non-useless and quality invention...
that's my opinion...
for now,i don't really remember any useless invention....haha[low memory~~]

every invention has one use or another, so no invention can trually be useless. You just have to find a person who would use it ^_^ (at least someone would want it, and thus it would not useless) (ex. you would find a x-ray device useless but a shoe-maker would not. So could you trually call it useless?)
