Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Like every year people go crazy around this day. Everywhere you look there's red, pink and heartshaped things.

I myself don't really care about the day itself. I love my boyfriend everyday, anytime... I don't need a special 14th of Februari day to make our relationship MORE special. I don't need a date to set up something to do something special for him... it's so planned, that it's not natural and kinda forced. I love him the way he is and I love to suprise him anytime, I don't need a special day for it.

Even so, I think the people seem so happy on this day, so it's fun to see everyone make their love ones happy. I don't dislike this day, I just don't give it a special tag or anything.

What do you guys think of Valentines Day? Do you guys think it's meaningful to celebrate it or not? And more important... do you LIKE Valentine's Day?

Despite the fact that my birthday is tomorrow, I still dont like Valentines day. VD is a made up holiday to make people feel like they are doing their loved ones a favor by going out and buying expensive items, and if your a guy and you dont then your ass will be chewed out by your girlfriend or wife. Its a sham of a Holiday ment to make people feel guilty if they dont buy something for some one else. The sad fact is that it works!! Oh god how it works!! Now my girlfriend likes the Holiday and says the reason why that I didnt like it was because I had never been with some one else to enjoy it with till now. I simply look at her and pretty much tell her the same thing I am telling every one else here. Its a sham made by corperations to make money. You shouldnt need a Holiday to show how much you care for the one you love. You can do that any day, and that day is suppose to be speciel between two people. You shouldnt have to make a Holiday in order to do it.

yea... i know what ya mean. you can celebrate with me! i have someone to celebrate v-day with but i'm currently about 12500 miles away from her right now. while i have nothing against v-day and i enjoy using it as an excuse to spoil my arctic fox (my girls new nickname and yes i actually have to find excuses to spoil her... she dont like me spendin my money on her.) i have to agree it is very much a corperate holiday. i have no issues with v-day most years but this year it bites the big one.


not only am i in the middle of afghanistan with 120 other men and no women around (not even friends i got deployed with) but it's also a very bad day for my girl because her little brother died on v-day 4 years ago while she was out sprucein herself up and had her phone off. she hadn't seen her little bro since x-mas so now feb 14th is a horrible day for my girl. if that isn't a sad enough story then i dont know anything else i can say to convince but think about this for a moment. when you find someone you truly love and all you eat sleep or think about is her/him, there are usually 3 or 4 key holidays that you want to spend with that person. v-day, your anniversary, thanksgiving, and x-mas. i've been in afghanistan since december 30th of 2006.

me and jacque started dating june 1st of 07 so i've missed every one of those holidays in the course of the last 9 months. by the time i get to see her it will be our first anniversary at the earliest. now imagine how her day is and how badly you want to be there for the people you live for when they're hurting inside. today is a crap day of the highest level. she has to worry about me getting blown up constantly and then she's gonna get sad because her little brother died on this day a few years back and on top of all that she has to work. i just wish i could be home to give her a little comfort. honestly i dont see how this day could be any worse this year. well, i take that back, i could be seeing red and pink and hearts everywhere in a non festive manner of speak. thankfully everyone here is safe and hasn't really been in any serious danger since the first snowfall in december.

i have no problems with this holiday most years except this one but if it comes down to the overall feeling towards this day then i'd have to say i enjoy it. well, at least i will next year. happy v-day everyone and remember, a little less than 5 weeks and i get to go home! YAY! ok. enough of that. hope you're all with the person you love. for those that aren't, i know how ya feel and i'm here for you on that day that should be shared between friends and loved ones.

Hope you make it back alright dustin so you can be with your girl, and the same thing to for all the men and women fighting in the middle east. I have a high respect for every one of our soldiers.

I dont need a Holiday made up to give me an excuse to spoil my girl, I spoil her all the time. So I guess every day for us is like a Valentines Day, just with out the annoying commercialism.

Back when I was a kid I loved giving out cards and candy and getting candy and all that other stuff, now you gotta buy things, which I like and hate at the same time, why? because I hardly have any money LOL. so pretty much I have to say is I love VD and hate at the same time.

~! I am neutral on this... To me, Valentine's day is just another day of the year; nothing overtly special. Truth is, I find it cheesy, which is not to say, mind you, that I dislike it or anything. What I really like about this day, though, is seeing people have at the art of romance and be in good mood in the open. I wish they were like that every day. The world will be far more charming or sickening for that matter.

OOOHHH!!! That's gotta suck!! Total sausage fest, LOL. I feel for ya man, and I wish you the best of luck out there. I'm prior military myself, so I know what it's like to be away from your loved ones. I've never been away from the country unless it was for field excersises, so what you're doin' demands respect. Good luck and come back to the US safe, so your girl won't have to have a nervous breakdown.

Man, I miss those days!! I used to love gettin' free candies and cards and just pretty much havin' a free day in school to chat and pass out goodies!! Aaahh, to be a kid again. I don't mind the buying of V-Day stuff, in fact I love it when I've got someone to buy stuff for on holidays. Shopping is a hobby for me, LOL.

I CAN honestly say that Valentines Day should be like it was in elementary school. People should just go out and by a giant bag of V-Day swag and just pass it out to random people on the streets. Spread the love people!

Ah, I despise it! Why??? Because one, it's too happy. People always smile bleh...two, it's because everyone is whearing PINK! I hate the color pink it's just too preppy meh...and finally, I have had horrible valentines days in the past...and today wasn't any better...and before you say something about it, even when I had a bf, it wasn't any better...so either way, I hate valentines day!!!
