Walmart is monopolizing the marketplace! (Monopolies = BAD!) I love low prices, but the unfair treatment of Walmart workers by the corporation itself needs to stop.

the government has a method where they some how emlimate monoplies, if it was in fact a monoply then it would be disposed of. Walmart is getting so much attention because of its advertisements, that are indeed more seen than any other similar stores

I do love the stuff that they sell and it has a lot of stuff that people need. But what I hear about it is not good. Like how they treat their workers and stuff.. I like the store so I would say that I think its great that they are taking over. I mean they have everything that other stores dont have.

There's been a Mcdonald's in every wal-mart I've ever been to, least in canada anyways. Hell, I just quit working for Rotten Ronnies, where I worked at a Walmart location.

If you don't like chain stores and restaurants, stop using them. We bemoan the coorporatization of America and the Starbucks on every other corner, but if they weren't making a ton of money, they wouldn't be expanding.

Americans are lazy, undaventurous and cheap. We want to spend less time and pay less money when we shop or eat. Most of us would rather eat something familiar that we know we like than something that we've never tried before or a "suspicious" new restaurant.

Not ALL OF US are like that... which is why small businesses and restaurants still exist. Especially in the city where there is a wider variety of people to cater to.

If we want more variety, smaller businesses and less coorporate interests in our backyards WE need to stop giving them our money.

Then again... small businesses BECOME coorporations with enough success. Even McDonald's started out as a suburban burger joint. We can't halt the march of progress just because we think something's gotten "too successful". Especially if they've gotten there through more or less honest means.

not every WalMart has a McDonalds in the states, only the Behemoths do...

anyways, Walmart maybe an evil spawn of the devil... but they do have the new DBZ DVDs at prices that would make the compettition hang their heads in shame... however, WalMart is there for a lot of people who don't have much qualifications to work anywhere else. to them, it's better then being out of work. and that's why they stay most times. as a side note, i bought my Wii at a ghetto WalMart on launch night, one of the worst nights ever, let me tell you! but i digress!


the tactics WalMart has are just more apparent than other stores. Target would not open stores in Chicago becuz they demanded salaries could actually live off of... so, WalMart isn't the only naughty corporation (duh!), but it is the biggest...
