Umm..very intersting topic to talk about during the Chirstmas hoilday but I will play along for the sake of the topic ^^
I believe that us girls like more than chocolates is actually being together with the person they are currently dating/engaged/married too. Flowers are nice too but really it's the togetherness of the person you like the most. Many boys just hands a box of chocolates and flowers and then walks off that's not very romantic.

Me? I'd prefer being with the one i love... The reason being he is half way around the world..

I am a stuffed animal guy myself. Also throw in some candy. Mainly though I depend on my company since that is what Valentines Day is about.

lol ummm...what do i perfer....tough one, i love chocolate!! but i rather a guy spend time with me than just get candy!!! I might get fat!!!!XD jk

Take her to your schools valentine dance. If one isn't available just try to spend the day with her. The chocolates and what not are nice, but those are just bonuses for her while she's swinging with you on lovely lane's playground.
