North America [including: Carib Islands, C.American countries, & Greenland]
South America
Africa
Europe
Asia
Australia/Oceania
Antarctica
Somewhere in space
None of the above, this is stupid.
You know I see a trend in this thread thats being over looked.
The main reason why censorship varies from place to place so much is not because they do a terrible job of it. Its because of what the culture finds acceptable in that area. Its illegal to be naked in public in America but its fine in some parts of Africa. Some words are unacceptable by some cultures but they are normal words for someone else. There are alot of Spanish speaking countries. In the Caribbean some swear words are rarely used but in South America those words are used like nicknames and everyday words.
It varies on the culture. Like the drinking age is 21 in the Us and 18 in the UK. But in Poland and Germany there is no drinking age. You can go to Mcdonald's and get beer with your burger. In Amsterdam and Jamaica, marijuana is legal. These things are a normal part of the general culture of that area so they can't be taken away by the government. Thats why when you see something from a different country or hear about the stereotypes you shouldn't judge those things based on what you know.
As for me, I'm from NYC. I traveled all over the US and I even tried visiting England where I will be moving to soon enough. No offense to America but their economy is doing a whole lot better.

You said it. Not me.
If you don't want me to assume anything, try giving out your facts straight.
And stop taking everything I say to offense. It's getting annoying.
I don't have anything against The British, England whatever. In fact, I'd love to go there next summer.
But you would have never guessed that, would you?
Too closed minded.
Am I going to get banned now for speaking my mind? Or can you handle that much.
No one's judging anything. It's just shocking to see or hear something that isn't accepted where you're from. You can't blame people for widening their eyes at something that isn't custom. It's just being open minded that helps accept different cultures and different ways of living that makes you a better person. And not taking everything to offense.

Strangely enough, while you're on the topic of people swearing when they get angry. I swear I have a friend that no matter how angry she gets, no matter if shes boiling, she won't use a single swear word. Nor use one for any occasion. Totally against swear words, pretty much lives by it and in the over 6 years i've known her hasn't once slipped up and said one. So there's rare cases![]()

i live in singapore... man anime ain't really popular here... but there are lots of viewers... lots of mainstream anime viewers.... but we don't have any website like this where u see singaporeans being the majority of the active users..
I live in the philippines ( am a filipino, and proud of it) now a small one in asia but the people here are great . I moved here a few years ago and basically grew up in NY. how it is here in regards to anime and the growing fascination for manga and anime well it is floushing. i know how we are stereo typed and censorship here is quite strict but the reputation of filipinas bec of what is commonly misconceived as true well not.i just dislike people who discriminate and stuff but all in all where ever i am and who i am i am proud of my heritage and who i am.
with regards to swearing not that i am totally against expressing one's thoughts and all but that is why i have a punching bag at home (lol). we are not encouraged to swear or cuss as most would say and try to live by it ... but that is just me.

The US now, and im not realy that happy living here. I grew up in ireland, so im used to openly cursing, drinking, and the like. Its all backwards here in most aspects, and i dont really have problems with censorship, since they do a bad job of it anyway.
cultures are different because thats the way its always been, so depending on the culture and where you live. theres a multitude of different laws, and oppinions. Censor ship for some areas is no big deal, like in japan, its a huge deal in america because of what each thinks younger generations should be exposed to.
