You are probably trying the wrong key words. Try "WWI" <- capitol "i" or "The Great War".

??? I don't understand. Isn't there some type of history book or something? I mean, come on... You're coming on here to find out information for school? I understand that finding specific information might be challenging at times, but it is something that you must learn to do by yourself. You don't want to become dependent on other people when you need to research something. Instead, you should practice researching material now, as it is something you'll have to do in the future of your life. Plus, you can't expect people to spoon-feed you for the rest of your life; if you can't find anything on the internet, then try your local library.

I sincerely hope you get what you need, and that you do a good job, however...
