    Wide World of sports

So, I found myself watching a bit of the super bowl yesterday.
I'll be completly honest, I know NOTHING about Grid Iron, so it all looked a little wierd and even a bit comical at times, watching guys with what looks like armour on, running into each other XD, (yes I am aware that it is more technical then that) but it got me thinking.

what do other countries think of Australian sports?

I remember watching an ad on TV with some American Baseball players commenting on our cricket and they were like
wtf? you run with this thing? XD I laughed for ages afterwoods

Even the 3 codes of Football we play ( AFL, Rugby league and Rugby Union) are a bit different and probably wierd to outsiders.

But the question I ask is

what do you think of other countries sports?

Have you seen some wierd or wacky sports being played in other countries or prehaps your own?

Well I've tried watching the Super Bowl once (I'm a huge Rugby Fan), but found it a very slow paced game that was quite timmid compared to the more brutal faced paced world of Rugby.

I have on occasion watched some Australian Rules Football on Sky; and even though I didn't understand it; found it quite enjoyable. Apart from that, my intrest is mainly in Superbikes, Rugby and Shinty*

    * Shinty:- Think of 'Grass Hockey', take away all the silly Half Swing Stick rules and strip the Goal Keeper of that puny padding and you have shinty. You're even allowed to chip the ball into the air and take a Baseball style swing at (thats how real men take penalties!). I've seen several people taken off the field with shattered shin-bones!

Sumo Wrestling and Mexican Wrestling are cool aswell. (They actually hit each other. Properly.)
A man may fight for many things: his country, his priciples, his freinds. But personally, I'd mud-wrestle my own mother for a Ton of cash, an amusing clock and a stack of french porn!

The weirdest sport ever has to be the eating competions and yes they consider that a sport...as to why..I will never know..

I used to be a huge basketball fan up until the Lakers started losing...

But I like baseball even though it's very confusing because it's nice to watch and I like the White Sox..

And I do like football because well you get to see people run into each other and I just want to see Brady get messed up enough so he won't be able to play...but it's very confusing..

    @Lardo
Mexican pro wrestling is just as predetermined and "real" as American/Japanese pro wrestling.

    Blasphemy, Hassun!

Anyways, I started to pay attention to mixed martial arts competition (real stuff) my friend got me on it, like UFC, Pride FC etc.

'Cause you give me something / That makes me scared, alright / This could be nothing / But I'm willing to give it a try / Please give me something
'Cause someday I might call you from my heart

Oh yes! I've suffered many an injury during 'Freindly' games.(i'd hate to see what competative is like!) I have broken (Bust) someone's nose taking a penalty shot. (Chipping the ball in the air then the Baseball type swing ) It's mainly played in the Scottish Highlands.

I always thought that Mexican wrestling was real? I know that Sumo Wrestling (not Japanese) is real though.
