Yep you can't make people work when they don't want to work. Usually those types of people get fired. Its all about the chain of command, you give someones boss hell about it and it rolls down hill.

Be ASSERTIVE and or AUTHORITATIVE but also somehow manage to be POLITE when you tll your coworker that what they did was unacceptable and go over how the job should have correctly been done.
Short of that you can report the incident to your boss and let the boss handle it. Usually they're pretty good at getting the point across.
And short of that, you are usually screwed.

Very rarely does it happen in a workplace that people that do the job they're paid to do band together and put in some extra effort to compensate for the slacker(s).
But that is also an option that doesn't solve your problem and actually encourage the problem which I don't recommend doing unless it is possible for you guys to all get raises and the slacker to get the boot.

Hmm.. I was a slacker xD I don't think Im ever a good worker but there are reasons to it.. I was unmotivated with my work.. the working environtment was all about work and the working procedure is something I don't want to do...

For example.. piles of file in a store room.. stacked one another high and not in order.. not to mention i have to scavenge through thousand of paper for just one document... Who would enjoy such work? >.< It's not my fault the documents were in such condition too... It was like that when i started my work... Im glad i stopped working there xD

Though there were some nice people there... might visit them later i guess.. lol

Just keep on doing the stuff you are supposed to do. The slacker should start standing out sooner rather than later. Then she'll get fired. Plenty of other people who would do the job in these tough economic times.

Like Hassun has said, just keep doing what your doing now, the higher up will take care of it and will give her lazy butt the boot. Best thing is to keep your head down and out of the line of fire. If it doesnt concern you directly then there is no need to get involved.

She will get her comeupins eventually trust me. I know people who try to out smart the system and they always get caught. First take it up with her and if she is unresponsive go above her to the manager.

i said to my mum (my boss) and i told her im not gettin in troble for her again and to keep me away from her ill ive cooled down cos i was really pissed off like and my mums put her to clean the furiture and re do the room over again till they were done right. . . and on her own

so at the end of it i havent pulled her on it
