I was wondering how can someone lead people to do as they want and how can people follow someone so blindly. I'm just wondering because I cannot lead and I will not follow someone so utterely.

Well... sometimes other people just don't want to do the things that the leader must do and the only one who's ready for this responsibility (I'm usualy that person when it comes to team work with school things) just becomes the leader... He's ussualy the best in the group too, he and the others must believe in his ablities...
To be a good leader one has to be a good follower...
A good leader is a good listener...
A leader is a guide not a dictator...
Since I was a kid people has chosen me as leader of something... School president, class president or whatever...
It took me a while to learn how to be a good leader.... I am still learning... I consider myself a good leader... not a perfect leader.
I am a leader yes, but I don't like to call myself like that... I like better to say that I am a good friend that helps, listens and cares for ppl. Plus for me being a leader does not make me the perfect person with all the right opinion always... the people under my charge are not my slaves... I am their leader to serve them... not to be served by them....
My dad once told me.... before I work as a camper and youth leader: If you want to lead people you have to learn how to obey and listen first... no stubburn person is a good leader....
If one want to be leader one has to be humble enough to admit that one can be wrong...
Someone who's not willing to lead and not willing to follow, usually are naturally-born leaders. People will follow your footsteps whether you like it or not.
Either than, or you're a follower waiting for a great leader (hah, those are rare).
All signs point to me being a leader, but I've only been one a few times in my life.
I've been mostly a follower in my life, but I never follow blindly. I follow for the main benefit of: It's not my responsibility.
:p Sounds kinda' under-handed, but if you gotta' get what you want without taking the blow, be a follower.
Immature? Maybe, but I'm still standing, not like the many who've practically already given up on their dreams because they didn't realize how harsh the world was.
But who would I rather be? A leader... I'll take responsibility when it's worth it, I'm not going to do it for "the best for all of us" (in the Disney sense, that is... or even the Hollywood sense) ... I'm not a "needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few"-person. I'd rather save the person who's worth saving than risk my life for the many who'll probably already screw up their lives eventually. ...that's not completely true, but I always wish it was. I'd rather that everyone has the same responsibilities... but in that way, everyone has to be a leader and a follower at the same time. Like that's ever gonna' happen.
What you're talking about, Shodokan, are selfish people, and fools.
Only selfish people lead people for their own gain. And only fools follow without question.
Even if you're a high-philosophy ninja master following the order without question, yet knowing what to do if it all went wrong: You're still a fool. No matter how mature a person can be, they can still be fools.
The selfish aren't fools, they know what the want, and they'll sacrifice anything (no matter how big or little it means to them) to obtain it.
Thats because 'Ignorance is bliss'~ (....)
I am to lazy to lead and to bored to follow.
[&&] If I do Follow, its only to blend in. I am very much aware of whats going on. Its not like a jumping off the cliff with the others~ Well I am, but with a Parachute. keke~ :D
v.v I don't see why I most be the one to make the Change. To lazy..
Anywho no one wants to be a outsider, because they just don't know how much fun it is~!
ABC News: Why Do People Follow the Crowd?
Here's a link, it may help you understand~
i would say i'm second or third in command... maybe leader of the senateor something...
i'm a leo, so all the horoscopes say i'm a leader... Soshi says i'm a good leader...
but i'm a little stupid and a little gullible, so i wouldn't trust myself in a high position...
Some people are just possessed by overconfidence; some are just... gullible. And yet others claim to be guided by some manner of a deity. :) In the "hierarchy" I'd say I'm 2nd or 3rd in command, like Abu. I don't like being right at the top because most decisions are up to me if I am, and the times I was first in command I always felt like a tyrant. I'm not a born follower either; I often find one too many faults with leaders. I'm one of those people who's best placed in a position somewhere near the top, where I don't have to be the one having the last say all the time, but high or powerful enough to make changes and influence people. :)
