    Re: Your Religion?

I dont have a religion (Ah, and that makes me an evil person who hates the world and has no morals, right? >.>') And I've gotta agree with Aliester a bit, religion has spiraled out of CONTROL in the past. Did you know that more people have died in religious fights/wars than the number that have died from the Black Plague, AIDS, cancer, the World Wars and all the gun crimes and murders COMBINED?! Thats just... as I said, out of control >.> Even in the past, religion was just used to stabilize the world (especially in Europe in the Middle Ages, the Churches rules EVERYTHING). Just look at the Inquisition, the churches used to sell peices of paper to grant people acess to heaven >.> Church and religion have always been used just to give people peace of mind and something to look forward to. Plus, it gave them something unseeable that they could blame everything on:
"My house caved in last night"
"Well, you must have done something to upset god, go to church"

"What is this plague that is wiping out millions of people? (The Black Death)"
"Oh, well its punishment from god, we've done something terribly wrong! Lets all go to chruch"

See? In the past it was used to give peace of mind but now its not so... insisting. Plus, we no longer blame things on God so thats a start...
But if some of you are strict religious followers, thats not my business and I'm not saying anything against you ^.^; As for myself, I believe there is a truth out there, and there is some form of a god but not one as "almighty" and "all-seeing" and "all powerful" as the one we believe in right now. SO in other words, my belief is that we havent discovered the truth yet. Please dont attack me for that, its just my opinion >.>

Not to mention that most of the stuff you talk about is from the bible. Which is just be a work of fiction if you don't believe in God.

I think I understand why you say you contradict yourself a lot.

I didn't clearify enough, did I? I don't beleive IN Satan, to me he's a smbol of just humanity. And yes that would make God jus s a symbol, as I said The Perfect Human.

And I said Zen Buddhism, is a different form, it's again happiness your own way. And the speaking from the bible is kinda my form os proving my point, It's too long for me to explain, I'll be sure to put up everything I have a view on in a blog, this was just a attempt to quickly sum it up.

The real reason why I contradict myself is I hate humanity, but I tell people find hapiness your own god damn way, and I can say people are decent for WHO they are.

Likewise. Like most Christians I believe that Christ is the son of God who came and paid the price for our sins so that we could return to live with God the Father after this life. Repentance, keeping the commandments of God, doing your best to be a good, honest, virtuous, loving person is very important to me and I try and teach my children the same things.

One of the largest misunderstandings others have about my religion is our belief in Christ. To say we aren't Christian is an insult since Christ means so much to us. The confusion occurs because of a small difference of opinion. Like the Protestants we believe that the Catholic church strayed from the original teachings of Christ, we just believe they strayed before the Council of Nicaea rather then later. As a result we consider studying the teachings of Christ and his Apostles, as well as the Old Testament, and learning about the culture and times of the Bible as essential to understanding the word of God.

I also believe that only God can restore his church, not man. As such God has, does, and will continue to call Prophets to tell us his will and guide us in our challenges in our day. It is a very comforting thing to know with the world we live in.

Its funny that Protestant believe that Catholics have strayed from Christ's teachings because Catholics think that Protestants are the ones that have strayed from the teachings of Christ. I mean to me both groups in some way or another have strayed from some of the teaching's of Jesus Christ. For instance, both group hate one another when Christ's teachings dictates otherwise.

    Re: Your Religion?

i am a spiritual person to say the least... i believe in no single religion... (i was baptized roman catholic... i'm of the last to be baptizes as such... they abolished the roman part of cathoicism already) i prefer to believe in God, a greater being, but in no single belief or teachin about him... it opens my mind to new possibilities...

i mean, yeah i celebrate christmas and easter but not ramadan and the journey to mecca and all, but i believe it has become more ofan upbringing than a belief. where i come from, it's a totally christian country, the only christian country in the entire asian continent... so i guess that's how my practices have been influenced.

but when it comes to reflection and personal time communing with God, i go wherever i want... whether it be a solemn garden, my room, the church, the mosque, anywhere at all... i respect all their religious beliefs, and i have my own version...

that is probably why i want to go to jerusalem, where the 3 religions of judaism, christianity, and islam are present in perfect synch. i also want to visit japan and marvel at their belief of buddhism and all... it's kinda cool to be in awe with all the religious sects of the world!

    that's my llok on it...
i'll choose to love whoever i wish to love and nobody can stop me from doing so ----

Christian. That is all I know, because my "home church" betrayed me in minor ways, and it made me not go back. Now, life keeps me from returning, and daily I find out more about myself. I know I'm a warrior for God, or I wouldn't feel the way I do about the world. I just need more training, I suppose.

Far be it for me to be anything special, when the only special thing I desire with me, is the special person I share my gifts with.

"Christian" is not a religion, Catholic, Lutheran, or any church that believes in Jesus Christ those would be considered Christian religions.

For me, I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or as we are more commonly called, Mormons. I'm not active at the moment (Meaning I haven't been to church for a while, in my case in over 3 years).
I hate to break it to ya, but Christianity IS a religion!!! If you're Catholic, you're a Christian. If you're Lutheran, Evangelical, Baptist, Covenant, or Mormon... YOU'RE A CHRISTIAN! Just because your views on God/Jesus are slightly different, the message is still the same, the book never changes unless it's under revision.

The word Christian means "Christ like", the other denominations of Christianity are simply sub-titles used to show that not all Christians are the same. But no matter what size the shoe, or who it fits; if you're one of those listed above, your RELIGION is Christian. Your denomination is a different matter all together...
