I'm never really interested in Miss America... it just reminds me of the SoCal Valley girls we got down here. Fake smiles, faker personalities, and just pretty themselves up to "deserve" their needy and selfish tastes.
...only thing they're missing is some of the fake accents some of the Miss America girls try to throw out the audience to seem "genuine".
I honestly was glad when the Miss America pageant stuff was getting desperate as their viewers dwindled (not too glad that it still exists), because as much as the Miss America pageants were a part of my American TV life, I never liked it and it's just filled with... with... I dunno, "fakeness".
"Whats wrong with having a personality, saying what you believe and being real."
It means you're imperfect, and that means America's imperfect. And people don't want that. People want America to be grand and glorious and caring and perfect.
Not only that, but I'd somewhat disagree with that statement... I've met people who are too strong in personality and love to speak every little thing in their heads. No understanding of respect, patience, and many times maturity.
Being real, I agree with. But not much people can be trusted with "having a personality" and "saying what you believe". They need to grow up a little first.
...besides, someone did try to say what they believed. Miss California, wasn't it? ()
And BAM. We all know what happened to her.
So all-in-all, I don't care much for the Miss America pageants. They're as much a part of America as "America's Funniest Home Videos" is.
... which was softcore Youtube for us... at least it was entertaining at times.
