capturing video on your computer
is there any program or anything that allows you to capture videos of what you do on your computer? like i might want to capture myself trying to use a program on my computer or make a tutorial on how to do things on your computer.
its like the program Fraps. that program only works for computer games but i want one that works for me using my desktop and stuff. please and thank you.

there is a microsoft program that allows you to record all your movements on a cp but i cant remember the name i will post it when i figure it out

I'm using Vmware's built-in capability for this, so I cannot record the "real" system, but I can create sample videos of the usage of the programs I want to. I cut the desired sections and use a better codec in VirtualDub afterwards.

i've tried some easy capture video program but doesnt work. wink! doesnt make the output files into avi if u want it to.

Camtasia. Try that. Of course you won't be able to use the full feature of it because it's a demo but it will do what your looking for. Here's the page. Let me know how it goes.

ahh i just tried it and it works perfectly. it looks like windows movie maker but it can capture things on your pc and it can be saved as avi. nice. thank you dark.
