So got an email today on a new product offering from Wacom:
Those who know anything about the Cintiq models know that offer on screen display and unreal responsiveness...making them the best tablets out there period...but at a normal $2600 price tag range...ouch...
However this new model (though smaller) actually offers a decent price tag ($999). Anyway my question is if you think this new model will be worth while and something you would consider buying yourself?
Re: Cintiq 12WX
Hell to the mother****ing Yes my friend... I've had the privilege of using the full 21UX with its dynamic swiveling base and semi-portable capability, which basically means you can detach the whole thing but it weighs a ton -_- the new lighter model looks like a sexy upgrade. Using a cintiq is a religious experience in comparison to a top of the line tablet. Even a smaller surface area on a cintiq would feel better and more natural. Although you could argue that a tablet PC might be comparable its a far cry from the sensitivity and control you get from a cintiq. Thanks for the heads up, I'm saving my pennies.
Re: Cintiq 12WX
This can increase productivity and refine accuracy for just about anyone, but if you are someone who can't draw or paint worth a damn (like me), the end results will not justify the price tag, even at $999. I don't think I would pay that much money to be able to trace or cut out images faster, which is pretty much all I would be able to get out of it. I am actually better with a mouse and pointer than with a pen or brush.
