What have you tried doing?
Try:
Go to control panel double click system, go to the hardware tab, choose device manager and then under "Disk Drives" find the drive and right click it. Choose "Uninstall"
Go to my computer right click and say "Disconnect" to your Z drive
Turn the PC off, cut the power to the HDD, turn the power back on and reboot.
Upon reboot it should reconize the HDD and reinstall it.
yeah i hear it is on and spinning and yet i get that error....
edit: i tried what you told me chief but i still get the error. maybe i guess i have to format it and lose everything that was on there huh?
Hmmm....try opening a command prompt...
Go to start, run and type command...from there type "cd z:" without the quotes
after i typed that cd z: in the command prompt, it says Z:\
that means you can access the drive using the command prompt...that suggests windows is having an issue...I would suggest using X copy to move what you need off of the drive and then re-formatting it
here is a guide to xcopy
Microsoft Corporation
X copy? what do you mean by that? sorry i dont know A LOT about computers. just enough to run one. damn though, i would have to move a lot of files....
