failed to format ps1 memory card

ok i just got a ps1 memory card and when i try to save on it i get a messaged saying its unformatted do you want to format it and i say yes and then it tells me that it failed to format what do i do

Stick it in another slot and try formatting it again. If not, take it back to the store because its Pooched.
