ok well i am a gamer and a fan of FPS. i got a good computer capable of running stuff so i was on countr strike when i noticed that my FPS was only 60. now thats faiurly low so i was wondering if that was my internet or my computer... cuz that would mean 1500 dollars wasted. BTW if this helps i have a nivida GeForce 9600 GT![]()

Go to your console using the tile " ` / ~ " key and put in fpx_max 101
Have fun.

If you're using a flat panel display, then it's most likely only capable of displaying 60 frames a second. Even if you increased the frame rate, the only thing that would result would be more screen artifacts from the out of sync frame drawing...
It depend the game you want to play. If you try to play GTA at 500 FPS... crash. 70 FPS is the best option (in PC emulators)
Several years ago, I was using Windows Millennium. Sometimes, some games work extremely fast (~200 FPS). Benny Hill wouldn't be enough to play them.
If you can play at "normal" speed, great.
