Are you using 700 mb disks or DVD disks that hold 4.7 gigs?
Ok i just recently bought DVD-R to burn dvd i downloaded when i bought a program. Now with windows media player it says the file on the cd is too large for the disc the disc is 120 min. = 2hrs. right? the movie is 1hr.& 18 minutes.
anybody know why this is happening or how to help me?
Yeah, Bye.

i'm not sure if media player does this. but most burning programs i have usually only burn up to 4.5 gig onto the disc. and it sounds like u got around or very close to 4.7 gig, so maybe u have to do an overburn?. not sure how to select that for media player though.
also how large is the movie in Giga bytes? cause different formates may make the movie bigger in storage size but not in movie length. think that also has something to do with resolution.
i dont know about gigabytes but in here is what i got 142 Kbps. and also what kind of program do i run to burn this movie?
Yeah, Bye.
Any burning software should do it, right click the movie and go to properties it will tell the size.
yes but it says insert a blank cd and it is blank i check. And windows media player wont do it
Yeah, Bye.
Can you tell us the size of the file...? And do you have Nero.
Clarify the situation.
What type of media is the source on? A CD, DVD, your hard-drive?
What are you trying to burn from the source? Music, Movie, etc...?
I ask because if you are trying to burn a movie (which most are DVD9) then you need to do 1 of 3 things.
1) shrink the file (see google for "dvd shrinking") so it will fit on a standard dvd 4.7 GB (this is a time consumming and nasty task)
2) burn it to a dual-layer dvd (8.5GB) which requires both dual-layer dvd's and a dual-layer dvd burner
3) burn it to a Blue-ray/HD-DVD disc which requires both blue-ray/HD-DVD discs and a Blue-ray/HD-DVD burner
