Hide IP

Hi there!

I hope you have a very good day. . .

Well, i need some help.

My question is simple: can i hide my IP? And if you say "yes". . . how?

I explain: I post on another forums. . .but some users, friends of the administrator, use the IP of the other guys to track and find their locations. And also find me. . .i don't have a real problem with that, i can tell where i live and another stuff but only to that people i choose. So, i don't want to be tracked. . . using the IPs in the forum.

Now one of the basic concepts of the Internet is the IP address. So how does all of this wonderful Internet data find their way on to your computer? It's because the sender must have your Internet Address to send their data to...

It's time to do a Google search on "Internet Proxy". (And if you don't understand how to do this, or understand the information presented to you, then chances are won't be able to use this 'feature'...)

Also, the closest they can get to your location using an IP address is the City where your ISP servers are located, the only way they can get your home address is if you give it to them, or they get the information from your ISP, which requires a court order, or in Canada's case, is Illegal with a couple exceptions (Like tracking down a Child Porn ring).

But i live in Mexico aceman. . . and here everything is possible. . .our laws in communication are very bad. . . with some help you can know the adress of someone with, what do yo like? Maybe your cell phone . . . :D: Yes, my country sucks. . . :(:

Try hacking; I mean try consulting a professional hacker for that, U can cover your IP by other one (a fake one) but not hiding it, or try using programs that change IPs, it's not really effective but it worth a try ;)

That and "consulting" can cost you a lot of money. Professional Hackers make millions testing security systems for corporations, and seriously, whats stopping them from taking your money, then hacking your computer at a later date using the back doors they put in while supposedly 'securing' your system?

Then there's the biggest loop hole of all that could throw a wrench in your suggestion: Doing anything of this kind constitutes a breach of most Internet Service Providers Terms of Use Policy. I know for a fact from working in one of their tech support call centers that Comcast has such a policy prohibiting any activity relating to hacking, as it can compromise their server infrastructure and can get you banned for life from ever using their services, as well as a lawsuit.

Then you have to get right down too it: If a hacker wanted to get into your system, They're already there and you wouldn't know it, and there would be nothing you could do to stop them save unplugging your computer.

Sometimes the best defense is the most basic and common: An anti-virus and Anti-AdWare suite, a hardware firewall like a router (software firewalls are nice, but can be bothersome to set up and maintain, proving to be more of a hindrance then protection for most users), and some basic common sense when browsing.

Showing the world that you have nothing to hide makes you uninteresting, locking everything up and trying to hide yourself makes you conspicuous.

Remember the old adage: Locks only keep honest people out.

There is 2 good software "Hide MY IP" and "Hide the IP" you can get on trial versions, but it change 2-3 times your IP.
