I got spybot search and destroy, not sure if that's the same. But if you do download it get the older versions as for some reason the newer version hangs a lot and eats up a lot of memory.

Spybot Search n Destroy is a freeware its ok its not the same as Spyware Doctor thou its a paid software from PCTools.
I just don't think Spyware Doctor is good since it takes up a lot of resources as does Norton so the combination is a killer on RAM for one and either NOD32 or Kaspersky do better than both programs combined and uses less resources.
i found another program that picked up a lot of things pcD missed(is angry that he bought it long ago).
Regcure.
I was skeptical at first but as soon as it fixed a number of files and after i rebooted i saw instant results.
browsing too is a lot faster as well as not hanging when trying to tab browse.(heh 2year old laptop is showing signs of definate depreciation XD)

Oh yeah, and if you're like me who tries all kinds of spyware/adware/firewall programs,
don't forget to UNINSTALL all anti-spyware programs you don't use. because chances are some of their features like network monitoring or firewall sub usage will take a definate toll on your ram even if these programs are closed.(just my guess, its better safe than sorry...:P).
i'm just saying that because i got rid of a few., especially my norton and webroot(i only have my AVG running and it's super easy on the RAM) and now my laptop is working 10 times better.(firefox loads up instantly too ^_^).

i photoshop on an older computer... the indexing search thing helped alot.....
disabled the random noise when it auto searches.. so thanks =D
