For $40 more, you can grab an Intel E8400, and from what I've heard, the performance is much better. Of course, that would mean an Intel compatible motherboard as well, but there shouldn't be a price difference between the two. Otherwise, everything looks pretty good to me.

You could also up the memory to 4GB, (though only 3.2GB of it would be usable under the 32bit OS), as DX10 games (with that graphics card your installing, you do plan on installing DirectX 10???) can use every single bit of RAM that you can stuff onto that motherboard... I would also recommend spending a little more $$$ on your video display, and get one thats native 1920x1200 resolution and HDCP support. (After all, what are you buying that heavy duty a graphics card for), which would also give you the option of later adding a Blu-Ray ROM drive to your system, and being able to watch those High Def Movies in their native resolution... ![]() ![]() Credits: 1,278 | Re: Make mah first custom PC :) I do see your point, thx. (board can handle 8GB :) ) Newegg.com - OCZ SLI-Ready Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory wow, amazingly that costs less than the worse RAM :) u people are cause for greatness, lol I can't use that monitor because of price and features, but iz awesome nonetheless :)))) *bookmarks* And i will buy an extra fan when i see what size i need or what kind of fittings there are, as for now i'm just staying on "safe side." Besides that, i also am new to the overclocking(yes i've heard of it), since i've never had the chance to play with it before, so I'll make sure to check that thoroughly, thx That heavy duty graphics card is for handling Crysis :) and yes iz DX10 :)

I've already bought it due to the rebate time limits. :/ My limit for this project was originally 1500, i've already crosses that up a little for enjoyment. I do appreciate the info tho, thx much I WILL keep it in mind.On a side note, did you know that Crysis crashes NASA's CrayXT? That's a fkn supercomputer 0_0.

The crash most likely occurred on the workstation providing the graphics display interface, (and probably due to buggy DX10 drivers at that...)

![]() Ok, they ran Crysis maxed for 10 minutes, and it crashed the systems. <-- better version ![]() I don't think it was a specific workstation, as much as they used the entire system, which was put over the BIG screen.
