    Re: Make your own computer

    sorry I meant velocity.....

    GHz = GIGAHERTZ:
One hertz simply means "one per second" (1 / s); 100 Hz means "one hundred per second", and so on. The unit may be applied to any periodic event – for example, a clock might be said to tick at 1 Hz, or a human heart might be said to beat at 1.2 Hz. Frequency of aperiodic events, such as radioactive decays, is expressed in becquerels.

To avoid confusion, periodically varying angles are typically not expressed in hertz, but rather in an appropriate angular unit such as radians per second. A disc rotating at 1 revolution per minute (RPM) can thus be said to be rotating at 0.105 rad/s or 0.017 Hz, where the latter reflects the number of complete revolutions per second.

    RAM:

    Re: Make your own computer

It's not really hard to build urself a computer. With what jaderabbit posted basically explains the basics of building a computer and what one should start with. I recommend people to learn to build their own computers. I think ur able to appreciate it more and with it u'll learn how to fix most common computer problems... (saves time to those who work with fixing computers daily :s). Try reading up on some pc magazines and such, like parts that are upcoming, and parts that are good. This should help you in your build for your "super computer." I know that everyone has their own preference, like myself regarding jaam0927's computer preference. I don't totally agree with all the parts that he posted, lol.

Here are somethings you should look for in buying parts

Case: Size- Full tower, mid-tower, desktop
The size of your case will determine what type of motherboard u'll need. ie. atx or micro atx
Motherboard: Chipset, intergraded parts ie. sound, video, ethernet, etc., AMD or Intel CPU socket, agp or pci-e(2) graphics slot, # ram slots
CPU: AMD or Intel (i prefer AMDs)
Ram: 512mb-4gb (the more the better)
HDD: size and speed (faster the better)
2nd HDD: size (1tb! bigger capacity)
Video Card: ATI or nVidia (ATI!)
Power Supply: the more watts the better
    Optical drives: cd-rom drives/burner/dvd-drives

Also if your going for highend CPUs its recommended that you read up on heatsinks to ensure that your CPU won't overheat.

can't really think of anything else.... if i remember anything i'll edit
Look ye into the darkness and you shall find me there... a me you have never known..

    Re: Make your own computer

say i got a new pc, a dell, can i change the case? is it like a easy swap, just take out the insides of my dell and put it in a new case? dell makes pretty boring cases, i want a new funky one, is that possible?
