ok so i decided to get rid of vista and put XP back on and low and behold i gotta install some drivers that i can't seem to find it's a acer motherboard model N1996 i've tried the manufacturer site but that didn't help and google is being stupid.

Do you know what chip set your motherboard uses? and have you tried the chip set manufactors website? If it's an Acer motherboard its most likely a VIA chip set, but you need to know which one to locate the correct driver...Quote:
