pc keeps crashing

i recently used a new software from logon studios to try and change
my logon and skin and it froase on me to where i couldnt get online
at all , so i did a factory reboot and youed the advaced options and destroyed all my files it took a day to get everything back but i still keep crashing .

before anything was fixed though i kept getting a message
that said \windows?system32\config\system files is damaged or
missing but yet here i am online so it isnt that .


anyway i am online now and would like to know what i should do
because i didnt make up any back up disks to fix the problem , and
i havnt got the money right now for HP to send me the disks i need
does anyone here know what i can do?

if it takes me awhile to reply ite because its still crashing or rebooting
itself , and sometimes when its reboots it want go past the windws xp
home edition screen it freezes or gives me a blue screen then reboots
again.

I don't understand Holder, you should have the factory installation disks for your PC (unless you bought it 3rd party and they didn't give you them). If you have the factory disks then you should be able to simply reformat the hard drive and reinstall the OS. That would correct the corrupt system files as they would be back to installation default.

To do this you just stick the first disk in and boot, then press “any” key to boot to the CD (the instruction to do so will be on the screen at the time for you to do this). Then follow the instructions on the screen. Not very hard at all but let me know if you need further guidance.

Now if you already did that and you still have issues then you may have bad sectors on your hard drive. Boot up and key pressing F8 until it gives you a boot options screen. Choose to boot to a command prompt.

Once in the command prompt type: “chkdsk c:” without the quotes. If it states that you have bad sectors after it runs then well you have 2 choices.

1) Run this: “chkdsk c: /f /r” again without the quotes which may help you…
2) But you are better off buying a new hard drive which is option 2.

i dont have those disks becuase when i got it from walkmart they said it
had its own back up tools built in and i was suposed to make my own back up copys with 6 cd's but i never did.

anyway though i am back for a moment it just crashed again i keep having
to unplug my pc for a few moments then plug ing it back into to get back to AO

Give Ubuntu a try.

Its a Linux based OS, download it all then burn it to a disk its around 700 megabytes. Then when restarting go to the BIOs window it should be F2 and set it to boot up on the disk its slow but install Ubuntu and restart you can't be effected by any Windows virus + if you put Beryl on it you'll see its better than Windows.

You probably have malware in your backup disk :/

Do this if you want a new OS of course... use Kaspersky anti virus if you wanna stick with Windows, it should help.

Did you try chkdsk? If that doesn't work...and you have no start up disks...you are reduced to buying one or getting a friend to lone you theirs (for a repair that is), if you want to keep windows.

yeah i did that and i tried safty mode as well and it forse in safe mode so im not sure what to do but have somone wipe my drivers and reformate everything i just got back online my pc is just being so agirvating
