Thread: Problem Laptop

Can you tell us if it is a short beep or a long beep. And does it beep right away when you turn it on or does it wait a few seconds before beeping?

Maybe the charger is defective and its not charging the battery, and maybe the beeps are because the PC doesn't have enough power. Or the battery might be defective and not holding a charge. Does your PC work with the AC adapter plug-in?

First it does it right when it turns on and its a short beep like it said it beeps 3 times pauses then 3 more times pauses and then beeps once.Number 2 i bought the charger so its new so i dont think its the charger or the battery it might be though will it says my battery is being charged because it does the charged sign saying its beening charged and my laptop does have a AC adapter plug-in and thats how it charges k .

Look up youre laptops manual on the manufactures website and look for something called POST codes in it. When a laptop is defective it makes those sequences of beeps to indicate which part is broken.

With a lil bit of luck the manual will have a list of the different sequences of beeps and list which part might be broken. If it still says that its the battery or charger then you might wanna consider turning the whole thing in at the shop.

Okay i went to IBM i could not find post codes could anybody help me out i know the type of my IBM but not anymore its Type is 2647 thats the type number please help.

I found out what was wrong with post codes i have a bad DIMM and MotherBoard they usally cost 50 to 60 bucks so im looking at 150 bucks to fix my labtop thks for all the help you can close this post now .
