I found on my older ps2 it wouldent read some of the new cds which pissed me off and then my ps2 met a very sad end
but now that i have a newer ps2 i dont have this problem eny more.
Okay so I bought a brand new gameshark and I put it in my PS2 and it won't read it. The same Disc read error comes up. I want to know if its the disk itsef that's causing the problem or is it my 6-year old PS2. So any ideas..

Your only choice right now is to put in some other game or cd, and see if your PS2 can read it...if it can't read those either, it's probably RIP.Originally Posted by Descended From Darkness

I can read my PS2 games and when I put in my friends FFVII discs(all 3) it wouldn't read those....I'm thinking it won't read any oynx type disc..my friend in the ninth grade experienced the same problem...

do u mean the old bule ones that first came out with ps2 or the old black ones from ps1 ? because both i had trouble with on my older ps2.

Disc Read Error
This appears to be one explanation and temporary fix, although I've never owned a playstation1, 2 or 3.
These companies are always changing the internal parts of the consoles due to supplier price changes, so there are any number or reasons from any number of parts that could be defective.
Maybe he/she means the black PS1 discs?
Question: Do you own Metal Gear Solid 3, God of War or Resident Evil 4?
