You can reformat it but you'd need the CD that came with the computer. There should be a screen on the start up that would say reformat, it erases all data and reinstalls the OS.
ok so my aunt has this comp thats not working I think she said it crashed and she wants me to fix it but I have no clue ...
everytime it starts up this blue screen shows up says to restart and put it on safe mode but when I do that the blue screen pops up again ....
does anyone know what thats about? my aunt doesnt want to save the info thats on the computer she just wants to have it start working is there a way to set it up so it works even if it has to erase everything?

all I see when it starts up is press f2 or f12 then it goes to opening windows and then the screen turns blue ...
What does it say for F2? Cause I know F12 is the Bios, try pushing F2.
f2 is the set up options or something like that I tried it and it didnt have anything in there to help with the comp just info and passwords
but I also tried f8 which lets me Reboot the comp but I just get that darn Blue screen again lol
Sorry I forgot about this for a day, but I had to reboot my computer to see the keys again. F2 is Bio, F12 is settings, and F11 was the reformat on my computer, it should come after the start up. Tell me if you see it.
First lets start with some more info.
1) What operating system are you using. Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP?
2) Did she add anything new to the PC before it started doing this? Such as a new program or hardware device.
3) Do you have an installation CD for the operating system?
Umm... there is no installation CD about how much would one of those things cost?
