well for one you need a virus protection program re-installin it won't it no good and i really don't know any other movie maker site

You can't reinstall windows movie maker, it ships with windows.

your problem is most likely coming from conflicting Codec's.

Unfortunitly, I don't know any free movie making software, so i can't help you there, But my one recomendation is to uninstall any Codec's you have installed, and use the CCCP (Combined Community Codec Pack) Combined Community Codec Pack

it plays everything, and they dont' conflict with each other.

Most of the time, Divx and Xvid codec conflicts crash WMM. WMM doesn't play nice with every version of these codecs. I have a sneaky suspicion that Microsoft made it intentionally work better with WMV & mp2 files. Also, if you have more than one version of each, then that could be the issue as well. If you have WMM2 you can always try to turn off suspect codecs to see if that resolves the issue.
