    windows vista home premium troubles

    i recently bought a machine with vista home premium and i am already having troubles with it so here it goes: when i turn my machine on it boots just fine untill 1 of 2 things happen: 1 it shuts down after the loading screen with the bars passing by or 2 it will sut down after it reaches the desktop. this is very frustrating... it better not be the power supply it might be that the copy of the OS that i got is buggy but let me hear what you guys think it is thx for the help ^_^
    lead me not to temptation... i can find it myself

    There could be quite a few things that could case boot problems, from bad Power Supplies, bad drivers, bad RAM, CPU over heating, etc., etc. Since you just purchased the unit, I presume its still under warranty??? You might just want to take it back and let the store deal with it...

    I would go with Len on this one.

    You could always try to troubleshoot, but considering how new the thing is, definentally bring it back to the store.

    Of course a lot of places like Best Buy have some pretty incompetent employees by my experience, so if they replace the comp..awesome; if they don't, take it to a private business.

    i just figured out the problem this morning: i've got a bad power supply! thx for all help i guess i'll go back to futureshop and tell them to replace the power supply then! thx guys! ^_^
