this promblem just started a few days ago and its really getting on my nerves anytime i open my disk drive it make a grinding noise it doesnt make it when i close it even if there nothing in it when i open it it still make that grinding noise anybody know what this is

Maybe you got one of the busted ones.. nah.

From what you say it sounds like the gears are binding. You know how a gear works right? A gear (or more...) may not be aligned so its pushing or rubbing or grinding against another because it isn't in it right spot.

I don't know how you can fix it.. if you're still on warranty go and switch it up for a working one maybe.

at least it hasnt given you the "ring of death"....my friend got on of those, sucks to be him... he had to buy a new 360.

The ring of death is the 4 red bars right? Lol if you have 3 its a easier problem to solve.

it was my understanding that the ring of death was when the power light was red instead of green. i belived it flashed, kinda like if you have the HDD in wrong or place the console upside down.

Thats what I'm saying it flashes red lights but theres a number of them ranging from 1-4 and if you had 3 its a simple problem to fix.
