i was wondering how many people still remember there first anime or manga from there childhood.
i had many my first one i love was transformers i was only 6 when i first saw it. it come on at 3 in the morning where i live at in p.a. and the only reason i remember that i will wake up from having a nightmare at 2 in the morning then turn on the tv to watch a guy who try to sell stuff i think his name was billy mansion or something.
then sailor-moon i first saw it when i move to t.n. when i was 8 and one morning at 4:30 there it was it come on after a cartoon about a soccer team who was turn inside out from a toxic track hit them head on. it was really dumb show but if you remember it and like it then sorry for calling it dumb. but yeah back to anime and manga from the childhood.
i was 11 when i saw Cowboy Bebop
when i was 11 i saw Mobile Suit Gundam
i saw Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket i was 11 just about to be 12 at the time.
i was 12 when i saw Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory
i was 14 when i saw Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team
i was 15 when i saw Rurouni Kenshin
i was 15 when i saw Gundam Wing
i was 16 when i saw G Gundam
then i remember Cyborg 009 , Zoids: Chaotic Century, outlaw star, inuyasha, blood+ and lot more.
so i want to know do anyone remember there favorites from back then.
As far as the anime, the first that I remember is Poke'mon when I was in second grade. Around third grade every day after I got off the bus I would watch Sailor Moon and Dragonball Z on Toonami. I didn't start reading manga til around 13 I think and the first manga I ever bought was Demon Diary :3
i remember watching pokemon too , in about grade 2 or 3 ....then i went on to digimon and the others of the sort
also i used to watch gundam wings, the really ooold one , like the one in the 90's (im guessing)and then i saw my first fav.anime , the anime that got me hooked to anime ...yu-gi-oh XD
I first got into manga when I was in the 6th grade. My brother and I went to the library and we found the "graphic novel" section and I ended up picking up Marmalade Boy. While for anime...my entire childhood was filled with anime lol! From Sailormoon to Dragonball Z to Cardcaptors to Digimon and Pokemon. It's difficult to pin point what started my craze. haha!
The very first anime I remember as a child was called "Unico"....not many people have ever heard of it, at least no one I know personally but it was a favorite of mines as a child. Then of course there was Transformers, which I balled like a little baby in the movie theatere when Optimus Prime died (the cartoon version). Of course hands down Foolie Coolie is the my favorite so far! Anything that came on Toonami (remember that on cartoon network?) was a good look for me.
Oh man, I first anime I watched that i can remember was Sailormoon and Dragon Ball Z. I would watch them all the time.lol. Then was i was about 12-13 my friends introduced me to Fruits Basket. At first I didnt get why Thoru had such big freaking eyes, but now, I love it! <3
In middle school my friends got me into naruto. Gaara-sama was the frist character i loved. Lol, and i still do! XD
I can't even remember my first anime.. but I remember watching Inuyasha, Sailor Moon, Gundam Seed, Fruit Basket and obsessively DRAGON BALL! :b

My first favorite would have been Digimon. It's still one of my favorites. I loved the story and the characters and I thought that it was a way cooler show then pokemon (I still love pokemon too) because the kids had to survive in the digiworld.
