I'm not too familiar with Japanese fashion, but I would have to agree with you on the kimono. It's so elegant and beautiful. I have another that I like, but I don't know what it's called or how to describe it.
From the sukeban to the gothic lolita Japan has produced some killer fashion styles. What ever the Japanese do they do it all and revolutionizing fashion is no different. So shate with the forum what your favorite aspect of the Japanese fashion scene is.
I will go first. I love the kimono it is ancient and beautiful. They wear different ones for different season, it is just awesome. Some things never change nor should they.

I like the lolita fashion I suppose. It doesn't have to be gothic looking to me though. I overall like the way it looks fun and child-like. Its like a look that appears embarrassing but at the same time it looks pretty and cute. I would never be caught dead wearing something like it though. XD

I agree with you bout the Kimono. It looks very nice, especially nowadays that they made it as a fashion trend. I also like their schoolgirls' uniform. Jap girls look very cute with it.

I like the cloaking device that makes it look like you're a vending machine, wait does that even count?
Japanese fashion is cool, all us Americans have are saggy pants and shutter shades. =/

i adore the gothic lolita style. i got into it through liking Visual Kei styles depicted by Kyo(dir en grey) and other VK or old VK musicians. i especially like the makeup paired up with the style, the woman-ness of it though it it still easy to see the masculentity. i apologize if this seems off topic, but if anyone can relate to how i feel about it, we need to chat =D
