How would you go about telling someone that you would like to know more about them?
(I heard that asking about someone's personal life is also a big no-no!)
If your happy and you know it make a kitty!!! =^_^= <Meow!

Then it's best not to ask, isn't it? If they want to, they will tell you. You can try asking some questions about their life, but if they start to avert their eyes and cut the conversation short, then it's best to stop.
I'm sure most people of the younger generation wouldn't mind as much in talking, though.

    I see, alright.
Is it at all possible to get married to a Japanese Citizen?
(I heard that foreigners can never "truly" be a part of their culture)

Ye but it's also pretty rude in some Western country,s.
If you want to ask somthing persanol it best to to ask the question (Cane i ask you somthing persanol?), that way your less offending.

I'm sorry, but your questions seem to be getting more and more ridiculous. Of course anyone can marry a Japanese citizen. You may not be able to fully understand your spouse's culture and traditions, but the whole idea of marriage is to be able to share your different personalities, cultures, ideas and points of views with each other for the rest of your life or marriage.

I myself have set "marrying a Japanese or Korean man" as one of the top goals in my life =).

The idea that foreigners will never be truly Japanese is the same for all cultures across the world. If you were not brought up in the counrty, it's very hard for one to understand the subtle rules and norms of that culture that is different from your own. It's especially hard in the Japanese context because they have many subtle rules.

There's a story I read where David Letterman made a joke about the divorce of a Japanese woman he was interviewing. Just the act of him pointing out that she was divorced made her turn red from embarrasment then blue from rage, and she stormed out of the studio. Where Americans don't see divorcing as evil or bad (Letterman had divorced some five times at the time), it is a taboo to the Japanese. The children of divorced parents hold their heads down in shame (although this is slowly changing, of course, with westernization)

So, there will always be clashes, but as long as one is open and accepting to the spouse's upbringing and points of views, there is no reason two people of different cultures and nationalities can't live happily together

Be polite and bring a gift. Being a foreigner they won't expect much more from you.

I am Korean. Congrats..you can cross that goal off the list. I like long midnight walks on the beach, ramen, water, sensative to a degree, not too tall or small, heavy or skinny.
