![]() | Japan, way ahead of everyone else. We all Japan provides us with precious and important imports like cars, electronics and such. But Japan is constantly thinking and coming up with new innovative ideas every single day. Every time I read a science magazine or something I always see an article on Japanese tech and it's always interesting. I believe Japan is way ahead of it's time in many aspects including technology and science. I feel that one day Japan will become the number one country for imports. Many of the toys and electronics you own are made in Japan. I don't understand why The United States can't easily do the same. So does anyone share the same thought?

![]() ![]() | Re: Japan, way ahead of everyone else. If it's the other countries in Asia most of them would have this saying.. "look up to the east..." which is Japan... That little country has been in front of all other countries in Asia... During WW2... many countries look up to this country to fight against invaders when a small country such as Japan defeated a colossal country in a battle... if im not mistaken.. it was Russia... |

![]() | Re: Japan, way ahead of everyone else. I see this as some kind of myth due to the Japanese post-war economic miracle which marks the immense growth of Japan's economy following the WW2 with quite some help from the U.S.A. But Japan just currently faced one of its biggest economy downfalls starting in the mid 90 and are still gradually recovering from it. The immense growth of China's economy is a potential threath to the momentary economy of Japan in Asia too. Many innovative ideas indeed come from Japan, however I wouldn't say that they are way ahead of everyone else. Think of the collaborative work in Cern, the accomplishments of the Nasa and so much other stuff. I don't think that Japan is especially gifted on that part. Japan way ahead of its time? I think that's a bit stereotypical nowadays. By the way, it wasn't Russia that Japan invaded in the WW2 but China. If that's what you meant.

Russo-Japanese War - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia As with other western economies, Japan has undergone profound changes with serious issues that have yet to be dealt with. Japan lost its ship building industries to its lower cost neighbors decades ago, and is now facing competition in consumer electronic manufacturing from companies in Korea and China. This year, China has surpassed Japan in gross domestic product to become the largest economy in the region. Japan also faces the problem of both an aging and declining population, which does not look good for the long term future of manufacturing.

![]() | Re: Japan, way ahead of everyone else. In short, the "They're years ahead of us!" comment many visitors to Japan exclaim just isn't true. Statements like that are just too shallow to mean anything.

![]() | Re: Japan, way ahead of everyone else. Last time I went there I thought they were pretty far ahead. >x< My friend went there last week too, and she was pretty ecstatic about all the stuff they had compared to what we have here... She took pictures of the vending machines... Who does that?! Lmao |

![]() | Re: Japan, way ahead of everyone else. They have these cloaking devices that when you put it on it throws off stalkers or someone that's chasing you because it's a vending machine costume. Who else but the Japanese, right?
