Re: Japanese Bands coming to America
Well, supply and demand, you know. If the people don't ask for it, they won't get it. Apparently Germans are pretty big on J-Rock, though. I don't know what it is with the Japanese and the Germans... a lot of Japanese people I know seem to want to learn Germany or go to Germany... and a lot of German youth are into Dir en Grey, MUCC, Miyavi... the like.

Rock is pretty big in Germany in genarol so i wouldn,d be suprised if they also listen to J-Rock, but i don,t realy now much about music in Germany.
It may be the neighbouring country but there is a pretty big cultere difrence.
And the thing about German people and Japanese people i think thats somthing you should ask them, personaly i think Germany isn,t that intresting though.

Hopefully that won't be their last performance in America.... The need to go to a "real" state and a few of the major cities.

O.k. don't get me wrong I'm not being biased I just feel that there are multiple cities which would have yielded a much bigger response. Overall, I would really have expected cities like San Diego or New York considering the diversity located in both cities on both coasts.

For all you know they could have asked to go to Texas.

As far as I know, though, you can't easily get MTV Asia in America...
There is AZN TV, and they occasionally have segments with MVs and such, but... it's still not the same.
There was in article in the New York Times a few weeks (months? I dunno) ago about how, in America, a lot of Asian or Asian-American singers aren't popular. If I remember right, they said it was because of the "Asian nerd" stereotype and such that prevents people from seeing them as a good "pop" or "rock" type =/
I remember the YG Family 10th anniversary concert in fall of last year though... They had concerts in NYC, D.C, and LA, and even though it was a Korean record label it was sold out. There were even a few other white people there! So I think as long as they target densely populated, urban areas, there'll be no problem with them being successful in their shows.

Shodokan didn't tell us, but maybe they were heading toward a metropolitan city. Overall, it's up to the band. They must have believed there is enough buzz to generate revenue before they went there. Also, they were probably assured they won't get gunned down.
