I saw this email a week ago.. shared by a friend.. something Legend might want to have xD

Well it was sent along with some pictures of many japanese men and woman, somewhere in a shrine like area... naked... and having a big "fiesta" *clears throat* if you know what i mean... and there were huge... man "thingy" worshipped by all of them,..and... things go on and on.. ect ect... and they all wore white before the "procedure"

Now im wondering... is this..real or... it's just...a porn? As we all know... japan do have a very... umm... big porn industry... *coughs*

I hope this post is appropriate.. sorry if it violates any rules... *bows*

and if you want that e-mail.. the answer is no.. i dont have it >.< im not going to send it just like that..might send it to some...13 year olds.. ~.~ that is not good.. >.<

*psst* porn = adult movies, might be less offending for children ^^ but then again what 13 year old (or maybe younger) can say that they don't know what porn is, have seen one or other stuff like that

Japan, (just like any other modern western society) does has it share of cults. (One was involved with a a nerve gas attack on a Tokyo subway station a few years ago...) Some cult like organizations are even covered in some recent anime series (e.g. 'Welcome to the NHK') Just like cults everywhere else, its probably best just to ignore them...

What you are referring to is simply a fertility festival. They have existed all over the globe at one time or another but many of the more 'modern' faiths have swept them under the rug of time.

Kanamara Matsuri is an example of a fertility festival still celebrated in Japan.

i must agree with Hassun. having lived in Japan and seen fertility rituals this is not shocking furthermore it does not surprise me taht this happened near a shrine. Some blessed places that are believed to have healing properties do not allow one to wear clothes or only allow for certain clothes. Besides teh presecnese of nudity does not mean that there is sex going on but even if there was, remember that japan is not a christian nation and shinto faith does not believe sex to be inherently evil like american society does. We refer to sex as naugthy, the bad thing, lets do something wicked, or wild. And a few legends I have read about good things came from people having sex with strangers that happened to be ghosts. Just research how teh sun came into the sky in japanese mythology.

O.O I think there are rituals such as that held in many corners in the world.. just.. "hidden" It's just.. I thought Japan would hold the "eastern" quality and there be no such rituals like this.. it's just.. biazzare...

Sex was a taboo subject here in Malaysia.. but things have changed after the infiltration of "open minded" thinking.. lol ^^ people's view have changed.. but.. there are still some of them that think that sex is just merely a reproduction method.. and leave it at that...

I seems real enough to me and what Hassun said is the proof to it... like the picture inserted in wikipedia link he gave..it was exactly the same thing... only there were more pics in my mail..

I hear some darker "cult" society hold this kind of... activities.. i don't think my gf would allow me to join such thing plus... better not interfere in things you don't understand >.<
