![]() | Japanese Hairstyles!! Ok, I've been thinking about it for a while now, but I'm just a tad stuck. Japanese male hairstyles. HOW DO THEY DO IT?! I've been growing my hair since probably March and it can probably cover my eyes when it's drooping, but I wanna know how they get it so damn straight! How do they get that?! THIS IS A COSPLAY!!!You know what I mean? That really dry, but straight look that makes it look super styleable? Before you go saying "You need to have hair like that" let me set the record straight, I'm Chinese and I have Asian hair!! I've been wanting to get a black version of Cloud Strife (advent Children) for a while and I just don't know how to go about it! Halp!!

![]() | Re: Japanese Hairstyles!! They go to hairstylist much of the time. hairstylist in japan are different from barbars in the states. Plus the Japanese have very thick hair. That could help explain some of it. |

![]() | Re: Japanese Hairstyles!! Thick hair, yeah that'd explain a lot, but even over in North America you can find people who can still pull off those kinds of hairstyles and again, like the cosplayer in my opening post. It's possible, but how?!

![]() | Re: Japanese Hairstyles!! It just takes large amounts of grooming, hair gel, etc. If you have enough hair you can do quite a lot of things with it provided you or the hairdresser puts in enough effort. Also note that most people of Asian descent have naturally straight hair, which saves them the trouble from having to uncurl it. (Although this leads to a lot of females wanting to curl their hair.)

![]() | Re: Japanese Hairstyles!! Gel huh? Awright!! Time to invest!!! To get it started initially, I figured I'd just drop a picture of Cloud Strife on the table and declare that I would not leave until my hair looked like that... but maintaining it afterwards is more what I'm concerned about. My opening picture is proof enough. IT CAN BE DONE!!!

![]() | Re: Japanese Hairstyles!! Im guessing that was done with a strong gel. I have been around a hardcore punk scene for years. Most of the people you see with those massive mohawks and liberty spikes use Knox Gelatin. I can personally say that there was a time were I had a foot tall spikes all over my head and it only took me a few minutes to do. Some people use egg whites or a mixture of diffrent things but the tried and true method is Knox. Yes this is the Knox Gelatin you get from the grocery story. If done right you can also have it last a few days with only having to do touch ups and still being able to shower before really washing it out. Crazy thing is it doesn't kill your hair like a lot of real hair products I would suggest conditioning your hair once and a while though. Yea im a bit of an oddity hardcore punk anime fan. |
