Ummm, if you want to be an exchange student you'll have to sign up with a company first - like the Rotary Club, the Leo Club or American Field Service, to name a few. You can't just go on your own like that.

School starts in spring. Depending on which program you're under, you may not necessarily start your term there at the same time as them - for example, AFS has a 1-year program that starts in October, which means you spend half a year with certain people in a certain class, and half a year in a different class (probably with your host sister/brother if you get one). Uniforms will be provided by the school, but most schools don't let you keep them unless you pay, and they're not cheap. My friend was lucky coz he got sent to this uber posh Catholic school that let them dress casually on Fridays.

Sponsors - depending on whether or not you can find one. AFS couldn't get me a sponsor on time, so my parents paid the full cost. It was a bomb.

    Carve an amble now,

Dare datte - who...? (or "who was it, again?" - also the same as dare dakke)

Shizuka na kuuki suikomi is, if I'm not wrong, written as 静かな空気吸い込み and means something like... the peaceful intake of the atmosphere, because "suikomi" literally means "intake" or "suction". Is there a continuation to that sentence? Because if there is, it might help me with translating that phrase for you... ^^;; It'd be good if I could know what context it's being used in...
