If you want something that's a bit more traditional, check out the Yoshida Brothers. They combine tradition Tsugaru-jamisen music with modern instruments. They are pretty awesome, I must say. ^.^ I like the combination of old AND new.

    Yoshida Brothers - Rising

I also recommend Itou Kanako ^.^ She's a lovely JPop singer... She's done a lot of anime songs.

Itou Kanako - Tsuisou no Despair
I first heard her when she did a duet (in English) with Watanabe Kazuhiro on the Lamento: Beyond The Void OST (it's a BL visual novel)... The song is called "When The End" SO Gorgeous... Made me tear up a bit O.O

L~Arc En Ciel...They make the theme songs for both FMA and Gundam. So awesome.

One of my favorite singers ever is Shoko Nakagawa. She sings "Ray of Light" at the end of Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. YouTube - RAY OF LIGHT She is very sweet and is an amzing artist as well. She has a lot of talent, and her voice is amazing!
