for one thing, the japanese are small, last time i checked, small isnt sexxy, thats all there is to it
I noticed Japanese people seem to have a cuteness fetish. For example i've noticed that their famous actors, musicians or whatever are more likely to be cute than sexy. Even one of Japan's most famous porn star Sora Aoi is very child like. I don't know it just seems that almost everything about them seems to be about something cute.
*predicts the army of people who will say the word "kawaii" in this thread*

Thank you sooo much Pyro Psycho>
'Cause you give me something / That makes me scared, alright / This could be nothing / But I'm willing to give it a try / Please give me something
'Cause someday I might call you from my heart
This is a small example.

Lol, i guessed i noticed that too. It's like cuteness is in their genes @_@ I dunno why, they're mostly fair and cute-like. Girls, guys... all look cute ._. We need a Japanese to explain this i think![]()
I wouldn't say it's just the Japanese who are like that. The Chinese are too. Some Malays. Koreans. It's an Asian thing. *shrugs* Some years back I was caught up in the whole "cute" craze too.
A person being born cute doesn't exactly have to do with a fetish, though... it's just genes.

No, its not in the genes (I'm a third generation American, but full blooded Japanese ancestry on both sides of the family, yet my tolerance in staying in a Sanrio store is measured in minutes...), but it is ingrained as a part of Japanese culture. Unlike the US and Europe, in Japan, its better to be viewed as cute then sexy. (I blame early exposure to 'Hello Kitty' for this phenomena...)
