I herd somewhere that japanese people where racist to iranians and colored people in general.If this is true i will be very disappointed.

Yea i heard the japanese are kinda racist too, but we not must not hate all Japanese for that. So dont go yelling out bad things to the japanese.

anyway, in my country, we brag a lot anout how multi-racial our country is. Well the truth is, discrimination is happening. Just like the blacks ans whites disliking each other. I mean.. why hate because of color? If one truly wanna despise, despise all human, people! hate your own kind too for they are capable of being jerks like other races. >_<

Perhaps the title should be "The Japanese and Racism" so people wont misinterpret this.

Like every other race out there, I'm sure there are racist Japanese people - not everyone, but you know, here and there. I know when I was in 10th and 11th alot of Korean people I knew wanted to take the Japanese class, but didn't because their parents wouldn't let them due to that old resentment to them because of what happened in the past. That being said, I wouldn't doubt there are the same feelings coming from the other side...

I mean, racism is still alive and kicking, unfortunately =_=

There are racists in every culture, to be sure. It's not that hard to find something to hate in a person, and putting forth effort isn't something people like to do these days. And with the Japanese, there's been pretty heavy xenophobia throughout their history. For centuries before Commodore Perry made his first appearance, any foreigner found on Japanese soil without a damn good excuse was killed on the spot, no questions asked. I mean, granted there were some port cities open to foreigners, but they were under the strictest of supervision with the most severe punishment hanging over their heads should there be the slightest problem.
