The difference is at the sleeve of the kimono, generally girls kimono have a longer sleeve that hang down at the side like this one

And the designs along with colors are more intriquite than a man's kimono. Besides having a shorter sleeve a man's kimono is more simple. Not to mention a man's kimono won't have flowery designs and bird like designs xD
Men's kimono also tend to have more neutral colors in them.

Alright cool, so plainer, and with shorter sleeves.
Is there any difference with the bottom or no? (as in, do they have some w/ pants? Otherwise that seems a little too breezy for comfort)
Well, to my understanding it varies the length. Like the more intriquite girl kimonos tend to go all the way down to the floor while the simpler one go to ankle. But, men generally have their kimonos go ankle high. There are exceptions though such as the men kimono worn by royalty and etc.
Well with the layers of cloths that goes under the superficial one you see...I am pretty sure you will be warm if not hot. If I am not mistaken there's different kimonos for winter and summer and after bath kimonos.
they have short coats call Happi coats that are warn in summer time, those are worn with shorts. they're usually for festivals?

taiko drum players always seem to wear them!
there are them samurai pants, but i guess after a few centuries they'd figure out how to make how to make the kimonos not breezy~
The male picture in the second post is a Yukata. Which is a summer kimono. They exist in both male and female variants. However, the male version of most kimono are less ornately decorated.
The long sleeved kimono Shizuka was talking about is a furisode. This type of kimono is traditionally worn by unmarried females on formal occasions.
The simplicity and colour of a kimono is a fairly accurate way of telling if it's intended for males or females.
