If I'm not wrong, one dollar is about equal to 120 yen.
"Everything else" is a little too wide. Why don't you help us narrow that down a little?
I wonder what an american dollar converts to in yen, how much rent is on average, what some of the customs that are practiced there, what kinds of jobs are popular and what is realitively available. Lend me your info and any other comments.

Ah yes. Japan-Guide is a good place. You can get yourself a couple of Japanese e-pals or penpals there too. I'm sure they'll be glad to tell you all they know about their country.
japan is very expensive because of high rents, so everything is inflated up.
its the greatest time in your life if you know people...if you in the airforce like me..dont hang out with americans...hang out with japanese..also buy a fast car ..so you can play with the japanese...dont worry about ddr.you want to drift..being called an otaku is not a cool thing FYI
